Fire Station of Sluis.

In the heart of Sluis, on the Groote Markt, stands this characteristic building. Many visitors wonder what it is.... On the side of the building it becomes clear that it is the fire station.

The building originally dates from the mid-18th century, but was largely destroyed in the Second World War. During the restoration, the hose tower was built, a design by architect Bedaux. The tower was used for drying fire hoses and climbing exercises.
